Who is Peter Russell?
Peter Russell, a native of England, earned his first class honours degrees in theoretical physics and experimental psychology, and a Masters degree in computer science at the University of Cambridge, where he studied for a time under the greatest theoretical physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking. In Rishikesh, India, he studied meditation and eastern philosophy, and on his return spent three years at Bristol University conducting research into the psychology of meditation. Since then his prime focus has been the exploration and development of human consciousness, integrating eastern and western understandings of the mind.
Among the first to introduce self-development training to the business world, Peter Russell's programmes have been applauded by such companies as IBM, Apple, Shell, Barclays Bank, and Swedish Telecom.
As one of the more revolutionary futurists Peter Russell has been a keynote speaker at many international conferences, in Europe, Japan and the USA. His multi-image show, The Global Brain, was awarded the Gold Medal and Grand Prix at the national Swedish audio-visual festival. In 1993 the environmental magazine Buzzworm voted Peter Russell 'Eco-Philosopher Extraordinaire' of the year.
